BRUCE GETS HIS "RAINBOW RIBBON"
Springsteen headlined the Honors Gala last night at the Kennedy Center, as the fifth and final honoree at the 32nd annual event. Jon Stewart began the salute to Bruce, acknowleding that Springsteen hated to have the attention squarely directed at himself, and it was surely killing him "to be up in the box seats with the rainbow ribbon with a dreamcatcher at the end of it." On this night, sitting beside President and Michelle Obama, Bruce would just have to grin and bear it. Following tributes from Stewart and Born on the Fourth of July author Ron Kovic, the music:

"Tenth Avenue Freeze-out" - Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band (including Shane Fontayne, Cindy Mizelle, and Curtis King)
"Born in the U.S.A." - John Mellencamp
"My Father's House" - Ben Harper
"Glory Days" - Jennifer Nettles
"I'm on Fire" - Ben Harper/Jennifer Nettles
"Born to Run" - Melissa Etheridge
"My City of Ruins" - Eddie Vedder
"The Rising" - Sting
